Trip #1 - Fellowship and Service Team, March, 2012
Fellowship and Service Teams usually do a construction project on a church or school. They spend about one week (5-6 days) on the project. Past teams have always worked in indigenous communities. The two weekends are spent visiting the two Mennonite churches in Ecuador and visiting tourist attractions making a total of about 10 days in Ecuador. Usually 2 people from the Colombian Mennonite Church also particpate. Relationships developed on these teams are a very important and rewarding part of these teams. The plan is for this group to travel to Ecuador in March of 2012. Presently we don't have details worked out for the upcoming trip but if you are interested in participating, contact Doyle Roth at doyleroth@hotmail.com or 402-641-0266. It would be good to get your passport, if you don't have one.

Trip #2 - Fellowship and Learning Team, January/February 2012
Fellowship and Learning Teams emphasize relationships with the two Mennonite churches and the independent indigenous churches in Ecuador. Generally, activities include visiting an indigenous church and community, spending time with the members of the Mennonite Churches in Quito and Riobamba, and visiting various partners in the ministries in Ecuador such as the FEINE (an organization of indegenous churches in Ecuador), SEMISUD (the seminary where Cesar and Patricia teach), the refugee assistance program of the Quito Mennonite church, and a school for poor children in the Inca neighborhood which is integrated with the peace workshops sponsered by the Quito Mennonite church. Participants stay in the homes of members of the Mennonite churches and also spend time with them visiting tourist attractions and markets. These relationships are an important source of support for the small churches in Ecuador. We hope to be able to particpate in the peace workshops and the refugee outreach in Quito and perhaps there will be opportunity to do some work, such as painting at the refugee house. These trips usually are about 10-14 days. The plan is ford this group to go the end of January or first half of February of 2012. Presently we don't have the details of this trip finalized but if you are interested, contact Don Kempf at donaldkempf@windstream.net or 402-759-1285. It would be good to get a passport if you don't have one.
