Resources for kids clubs
A number of our congregations are offering mid-week children's ministries,  and we want to affirm and equip them in this work.

We shared stories from these congregations in an issue devoted to nurturing faith in children in the April 2011 edition of Scattered Seeds.  Check it out for inspiration and ideas!

We've also created a list of curricula, resources and ideas for mid-week kids clubs which we hope will be helpful to congregations that have or want to have a mid-week children's ministry.

For Children's Sunday School Teachers

Introductory video of the Gather Round curriculum.

Here is advice on nurturing faith in children for both parents and Sunday School teachers.  And here's a list of children's books and DVDs that can be used to accompany the Winter quarter of Gather 'Round curriculum.

Resources we recommend

Let them come to me by Jeanette Harder  In the context of the Bible and faith, Let the Children Come helps Christians learn about their role in ending child abuse and neglect in all communities: church, home, extended family, neighborhood, school, work. Each chapter contains real-life stories, discussion questions and action items; the appendix includes prayers, readings and exercises for use in adult education.

Leader is a quarterly magazine for pastors and lay leaders in Anabaptist congregations.  It includes stories of congregations, profiles of leaders, and reflections on key issues in the church, plus regular columns for pastors, worship leaders and teachers.  Leader is also the source of worship resources for the seasons of the church year.

Leader online offers additional resources that cannot be included in the magazine.

The Western District Conference Resource Library has books, videos, music and curriculum you may check out.

Their Video Catalog has an amazing array of videos that can be used at church or viewed at home.
