The
Central Plains Mennonite Conference Service and Outreach Committee believes it
is important to the development of faith to encourage members of the Conference
churches to participate in worthwhile and meaningful experiences which enhance
one’s walk with Christ. The Committee
encourages creativity in seeking out projects that promote peace, justice, and
service in one’s community, nation, and the world.
For these reasons, the Committee looks to fund
projects, activities, and organizations that encourage hands-on, in-depth
involvement while promoting peace, justice, and service. As the Committee believes that groups should
have a personal investment in the project proposed, the Committee will award
grants for up to half of the funds necessary for a particular project, unless
circumstances justify further support.
If selected for a grant, upon completion of the
project, a follow-up report shall be provided to the Committee reflecting on
the experience.
How to Apply for a Grant
The Committee
uses the following considerations, among others, in its review of grant
proposals and offers this information in an effort to be as open as possible
about the grant application process.
Please be aware that the considerations listed below do not constitute
a complete list. We do not use them as a checklist or a score card and meeting
all of the considerations will not necessarily result in a grant award. Please be advised that grants are contingent
on the availability of funds. These
grants are available to active participants of Central Plains Conference
Congregations.
