Across the Fence a newsletter for Central Plains Pastors
Across the Fence offers a glimpse of what your pastoral peers in Central Plains Mennonite Conference say are the ‘best practices’ they have learned and experienced in pastoral service. This occasional newsletter enables me as Conference Minister for Ministerial Leadership to facilitate conversations with pastors around best practices for pastoral ministry. I am grateful to Darrell Zook for his editing and help with this newsletter as we aim to share practices from one gardener/pastor to another—across the fence.
You can help shape the content of this newsletter. What sort of questions might you ask other pastors—software/hardware, administrative/relational, small/large, mundane/sublime—most any question will send us looking about to visit with one or more of your pastoral peers.
Sharing best practices pastor to pastor reminds us of ‘tending the garden.’ As gardeners share their best practices with each other, Across the Fence reminds us of our need as pastors to share across demographic lines, learning from each other ‘pastor to pastor’ in Central Plains Mennonite Conference. Your ideas and questions about best practices in pastoral ministry are welcomed and encouraged. Send them to Tim Detweiler at timdetweiler[at]centralplainsmc.org or Darrell Zook at pmc[at]netins.net.
We hope you will enjoy coming to the garden fence periodically to share and to listen to best practices from one pastor to another. We look forward to meeting you at the garden fence as we share these best practices with each other.
