We have an update for you regarding Max Villatoro and also a call to prayer and action.
Quick Update: Today we learned that Max has been moved from Cedar Rapids to Eldora, which we understand to be a routine next step in the deportation process. This evening, the Torre Fuerte congregation is gathering and intends to pray until midnight. The church has also been gathering every morning at 5 a.m. at the Villatoro home. Please continue to pray for Max’s release and for peace for his family.
Here is what you can do. Please share this information with your congregation TONIGHT.
Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., a group will gather at First Mennonite Church in the downstairs lobby of the church to pray and to see Gloria and others off as they leave to deliver the petitions to the ICE office in Omaha. David Boshart, Tim Detweiler, Ramiro and Martha Hernandez and others plan to go along. Please come to pray and show your support. The press is expected to be there and a good show of support will be helpful.
