On Friday evening we learned that Max is in Louisiana, and because it is now the weekend, we've been unable to reach anyone at ICE or in legislative offices. However, Matt Hildreth, the Director of Online Programs at America's Voice told me this morning, "From what I’ve been told by legal experts in DC, it’s all about public pressure right now. The support for Max from over the weekend has been really amazing! Faithful America has joined the fight and we definitely felt it! As of this morning we have 42,600 signers on our petitions!!!"
Matt has been collecting the videos that we make and posting them here: http://americasvoice.org/blog/supporters-of-pastor-max-send-video-messages-to-president-obama-asking-him-to-stop-maxs-deportation/ He says, "Since it’s Sunday, all of the offices in DC are closed, but if we can get a dozen or so videos, we can send them to the press in the morning." Let's use the weekend to our advantage and use the time to collect videos. Please, make a very brief video asking for his release. You could share what you know of Max's character, make the case that he is not a threat to society, point out that he does not fit President Obama's criteria for priority deportations, that he has American citizen children, etc. Post your video to YouTube and send the link to Matt at mhildreth@americasvoice.org so he can post it to the page above. Don't be intimidated by making a video...it doesn't have to look professional or be long. An immigration lawyer in Ohio wrote to us this morning, "This is the time to be heard the loudest. I’ve seen cases turned around that I never expected to be turned around. So folks cannot give up. That’s exactly what ICE wants." posted at 11:45am Sunday by Shana Boshart Comments are closed.
