The Ross Richers
Jane and Jerrell and their family, Goshen, Indiana, serve in the eastern rainforest region of Ecuador where they support educational programs with indigenous pastors and church leaders; help develop the themes of creation care, economic justice, social structure, and the rights of women and children; and accompany community development initiatives proposed by members of the communities, including leadership development for women and youth. This placement continues the Ecuador Partnership (Mennonite Mission Network, Central Plains Mennonite Conference, and the Colombia Mennonite Church) ministries with indigenous churches, and is embraced by the indigenous association, FEINE, and the emerging Mennonite Conference in Ecuador, ICAME. This is a two-way mission placement with half the year in Ecuador and half in the United States, where Jerrell teaches at Goshen (Indiana) College. Together, Jane and Jerrell share in churches and other settings what they have learned from indigenous sisters and brothers in the global South.
