Back to information about Shine
For five years, many congregations in our conference and across the United States and Canada have been using Shine: Living in God's Light, the dynamic Sunday School curriculum from MennoMedia and Brethren Press. In a series of webinars this fall, you are invited to be reminded, or perhaps to discover, the "whys" and "hows" of this valuable Mennonite resource.

In the first webinar on Tuesday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m.,  Joyce Peachey Lind, a content editor for the Shine Curriculum will outline many of the "whys" of Shine. She'll give an overview of the curriculum connecting faith and child development, pedagogy, and the theological underpinnings of Shine. There will be opportunities to ask questions and to engage Joyce in conversation about the curriculum.

The second webinar will take place on Thursday, November 21, at 7:00 p.m. In it, Joyce will share some of the "hows" of Shine. She'll share some teaching tips and best practices and invite others to do the same. This webinar will be interactive in nature as teachers across the conference are invited to give and receive council on their methods and practices surrounding Shine.

Joyce Peachey Lind lives in Harrisonburg, VA. Joyce taught 1st grade at Eastern Mennonite Elementary School for 10 years, and served for 2 years as Church Administrator at Community Mennonite Church where she is a member. She is a part time content editor for the Shine Sunday school curriculum. Joyce is pursuing an M.Div. in Christian Faith Formation at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminar (AMBS) in Elkhart, IN and plans to graduate in May of 2021. She and her husband, Myron, have two young adult sons and a daughter-in-law.

Amanda Bleichty, CPMC Conference Minister of Christian Formation will host both webinars.

These webinars are designed for those who:
