Every Central Plains congregation is invited to send youth and young adults to annual meeting. Annual Meeting is usually held the third weekend of June, from Thursday evening through Sunday morning. The purpose of Annual Meeting is to attend to business, fellowship and worship together.
Our conference by-laws state: "Each Member Congregation shall be entitled to one Youth Delegate. Youth Delegates must be active participants of their respective Member Congregations, and must be age 15 to 20 years during any meeting of the Delegate Body at which they participate."
In essence, this means that your congregation may send one voting youth delegate in addition to its regular delegation. There are other ways for youth to participate in Annual Meeting as well:
1) A congregation may appoint a youth or young adult as a regular delegate. The only requirement for regular delegates is that they be members of the congregation.
2) A congregation may send more than one youth to participate in Annual Meeting. Many people who are not voting delegates attend Annual Meeting to participate in table group discussions, workshops and worship services. Just be clear about which youth are voting delegates and which are not. Youth activities are planned for all youth who come to Annual Meeting whether or not they are delegates.
