The purpose of the creative response is to help children engage the book in a way that helps them apply Jesus' way of peace in their own lives.

Depending on their age and personality, children can respond by:
- Journaling your thoughts, prayers or questions in response to the book
- Drawing a scene from the book, the characters, what happens next, or yourself in the story
- Making a collage from magazine clippings, craft items or things from nature
- Writing a poem, prayer or song
- Writing a story of what happens after (or before) the book
- Writing a letter to a character in the book
- Building a scene from the book from building toys
- Making something that the characters made
- Telling the story in their own words to younger children
- Acting out the book or parts of the book or the whole story
- Having a conversation about the themes of the book and how they relate to Jesus' teachings
- Any other creative responses you can think of!
