MC USA Special Delegate Assembly 2022

A Resource Hub to Equip the Congregations and Delegates of CPMC

Mennonite Church USA is holding a Special Session of the Delegate Assembly in Kansas City from May 27 – 30, 2022. At this gathering, the delegates will vote on several resolutions, including a resolution to retire the Membership Guidelines as the active polity in Mennonite Church USA.

In anticipation, Central Plains Mennonite Conference has appointed a Faith, Life, and Procedures Team to help inform and equip our congregations and delegates in preparation for the Special Session. The members of the Faith, Life, Procedures Team are Sharon Waltner (Chair), Margie Mejia, Lewis Miller, John Tyson, Fernando Ramos, and Susan Janzen.

Please pray for the FLP Team and the wider CPMC community as we discern the leading of God’s Spirit in this time.

Please check back often as we will be adding resources and updating information regularly. 
Delegate and Congregational Information:

​It is important that congregations select their delegates for the Special Session soon so that delegates can keep up-to-date on the resolutions and prepare for on-going discernment. Non-delegate observers are welcome to attend.

Registration for the Special Session is now open. Both delegates and non-delegate observers need to register through this link to the MC USA website.
Our friends at Atlantic Coast Mennonite Conference have put together this helpful video that explains the Resolution to Retire the Membership Guidelines. They gave us permission to share this video with you. Our structure and process here in Central Plains is very similar to that of Atlantic Coast Mennonite Conference, so when you see ACC in the video, you can substitute CPMC in your mind. 
MC USA has a Delegate Resource page for the Special Delegate Session. In addition to print resources, they will be holding informational webinars over the next several months. You can find registration information and recordings of those webinars along with resource documents in English and Spanish on their Delegate Resources webpage, here.
