Peace and Justice Task Group
The Peace and Justice Task Group was formed in November 2012 with out first teleconference meeting. We are still shaping our purpose and objectives. As of April 2013, we understand our purpose as follows:
A. We will help raise awareness of peace and justice issues among the Central Plains congregations and in the broader conference.
B. We will empower and encourage congregations to take meaningful, prayer-filled action on these issues.
We will accomplish the purposes above through, but not limited to, the following objectives:
1. Encouraging and enabling inter-cultural learning and interaction between various cultural and ethnic groups.
2. Sponsoring peace and justice related workshops at CPMC's Annual Meeting
3. Soliciting nominations for an annual peace mug award to be presented at each Annual Meeting
4. Promoting pertinent resources or campaigns to congregations from groups within CPMC, Mennonite Church USA and other Anabaptist-related or Christian peacemaking groups
