Missional Discipleship Initiative
The MDI is a discipleship model in which congregational leaders are trained to support and equip Missional Discipleship Groups of 2-3 people of the same gender who meet together weekly to be accountable to pray, read the Bible and share their faith.
We think it has great potential to bring vitality and joy to our members. Many of us long to practice our faith with more intentionality and personal accountability, but don’t know how.
If you are interested in finding out more about how your congregation can nurture both discipleship and mission, please look over these items:
1) A brochure that describes MDI
2) A Prezi presentation with information about expectations and more info about MDI:
3) The three brief video clips at right.
Together, all these items give a detailed picture of what it would mean to participate in the Missional Discipleship Initiative.
In the Fall of 2015, Marvin Lorenzana of MMN will lead cohorts of congregations in carrying out the MDI. One cohort will consist of Central Plains congregations supported by Conference Minister Shana Peachey Boshart. So far, ten Central Plains congregations have expressed interest in joining the MDI.
